Visitor Desk

With the advent of version 4.3 there is a way to invite 'third-party' visitors to join a session using the visitor desk.

For example, say there is already a session in progress and it is decided that another visitor should join the session, there are three ways to do this:

  • PIN: To use this method you must have a way to pass the PIN to the new visitor.

  • Email: This is a convenient method as it will email the new visitor a link that automatically signs the new visitor into the session on the correct page.

  • Mobile: You must have an app, with full unblu integration, to use this method. And you must have a way to pass the generated PIN to the new visitor.

Note: If you want to invite a new visitor who is using a mobile device but not using an integrated app, this can still be done using either of the first two methods.

Invite a New Visitor Using a PIN

Note: The steps below assume a session is already in progress.

  1. Select the 'invite a friend' icon . The Invite panel opens.

    Note: Make sure to select the correct icon. The one on the right , with headphones, is for inviting other agents. The one in the middle is for inviting visitors, and the one(s) on the left is/are for checking network speeds of session participants.

  2. Select the PIN tab then select the Generate PIN button. A PIN is generated.

  3. Pass the PIN to the new visitor.

  4. The visitor must navigate to the 'same page' then click the offline flap and enter the PIN to join the session. The session will open in the visitor desk.

Invite a New Visitor Using Email

Note: The steps below assume a session is already in progress.

  1. Select the 'invite a friend' icon . The Invite panel opens.

    Note: Make sure to select the correct icon. The one on the right , with headphones, is for inviting other agents. The one in the middle is for inviting visitors, and the one(s) on the left is/are for checking network speeds.

  2. Select the Email tab, fill-in the Name and Email fields then click the Send button. A link, containing both the url and the PIN, is sent to the email address entered in the field.

When the new visitor clicks on the link the web page opens and they are added to the current session.

Invite a New Visitor Using Mobile

Note: You may only use this option if you have your 'own' app that has been integrated with unblu. The steps shown below are a only a rough guide as your company can set up their app any way they wish. In general, the way new visitors join ongoing sessions on mobile is very similar to using the regular PIN method.

  1. Select the 'invite a friend' icon . The Invite panel opens.

    Note: Make sure to select the correct icon. The one on the right , with headphones, is for inviting other agents. The one in the middle is for inviting visitors, and the one(s) on the left is/are for checking network speeds.

  2. Select the Mobile tab then select the Generate PIN button. A PIN is generated.

  3. Pass the PIN to the new visitor.

  4. The visitor must enter the PIN to join the session. The session will open in the visitor desk, and the agent will see the mobile interface in their browser.
